What AbacatePay is for
AbacatePay lets your app take Pix, boleto and card payments in Brazil for a flat fee per charge, with docs written so an AI can build the integration for you. Your app asks it for a Pix QR code or a checkout link, the customer pays, and AbacatePay tells your app. Pix money is available right away.
How it plugs into your product
- 1Create an account and build in Dev mode, which simulates Pix and card payments without real money.
- 2Ask for production access with your CNPJ, website, address and partner details; the answer comes in up to 3 business days.
- 3From your server, create the charge or subscription with the production API key and show the QR code or checkout to the customer.
- 4Add a webhook so your app unlocks access when the payment is confirmed.
Does it fit your idea?
It fits if
- You have a CNPJ (MEI counts) and most customers pay a small monthly plan by Pix.
- You build with an AI coding tool and want docs it can read and follow without you.
- You want Pix money in your balance the moment the customer pays.
Look elsewhere if
- You don't have a CNPJ yet: only companies can go to production.
- You run a marketplace that has to split each payment between sellers.
- You expect to move more than R$5,000 a day out of the account from day one.
What people only find out after building
Read this before you build on it. Each item links to the official page that says so.
Only companies are accepted (MEI and ME count). With just a CPF you can build in Dev mode but can't take real payments.

Official source: abacatepay.comCard payments are only switched on after the team reviews your account, and card money lands in 30 days by default.
Official source: abacatepay.comWithdrawals only go to a Pix key under the same CNPJ. The first 20 a month cost R$0.80 each; from the 21st on, R$2.50.
Official source: abacatepay.comSubscriptions default to card. If you use Pix Automático, coupons are refused because the Pix mandate locks the amount.

What it costs in practice
A SaaS with 200 subscribers at R$49 paying by Pix: 200 × R$0.80 = R$160 a month, about 1.6% of revenue, plus R$0.80 per withdrawal (estimate). On card it would be 200 × (3.5% of R$49 + R$0.60) ≈ R$463.
