Overview

Know what you’ve built, what’s done and what’s next.

The Overview is your project’s summary, written by your AI from your actual code: what the app does, how it works, every part and where things stand. It updates as the project changes. You never lose track of your code, and your agent never forgets what it’s building.

What you avoid

Build without losing the plot. When nobody remembers what was decided.

  • Getting lost in your own code.

The app grew, and now you’re not sure what exists, what’s missing or why anything was built the way it was.

    With Faundr

    • What the app is, in three sentences
    • Every part and its status
    • A source file backing every item
  • Your AI forgets what it was building.

The chat ends or the context fills up, you start a new session, and you’re explaining everything from scratch.

    With Faundr

    • Where you left off, as soon as a session starts
    • The current feature and next step
    • A handoff note when you wrap up
  • A “done” that isn’t done.

The AI says it’s finished, but nobody agreed on what finished means. Something’s missing, and you only find out later.

    With Faundr

    • “Done when” agreed up front
    • Verified item by item at the end
    • Pass or fail, with notes
Overview

Everything about your app, in seven tabs. No jargon.

Your AI writes the Overview from your actual project, in words anyone can follow. Every item links to the file that backs it up, so nothing is made up.

What it is, who it’s for and what problem it solves.

Project overview · Summary

An online store for handmade ceramics. Customers browse pieces, pay by card or Apple Pay, and track their delivery.

Who it’s for

The studio’s shoppers nationwide, buying from their phones.

The problem

Instagram sales kept getting lost in DMs. Now every order has a payment and a status.

How it works

Your AI knows what it’s building. Every session, from the first message.

Faundr gives your AI what it needs to keep going at every point in the session, and saves what’s left for the next one.

  1. Session starts

Where the last session left off

Requests, changed files, finished tasks and the handoff note.

  2. While the AI works

    Current feature

What’s being built and the current step, also shown in the terminal status line.

  3. Checklist done

    Checks the “done when”

Item by item, before calling it finished.

  4. Wrap-up

    Handoff note

What got done and what’s left, for the next session.

  5. Project changes

    Updates the Overview

After meaningful changes, at most once a day.

Features

Every feature gets a plan, steps and a finish line. You set the finish line together, up front.

Before building anything, your AI plans it with you and agrees on a “done when” you can actually check. The steps become a checklist in your dashboard. At the end, every criterion gets checked and marked pass or fail.

Next milestones

Big features get split into milestones. The next one stays planned, and Faundr brings it up at the start of each session, when the current checklist wraps, in the handoff note and when you ask “where did we leave off?”

  • Discount codes
  • Delivery tracking

Plan a feature

Just describe it, or use the command. On a brand-new project, it writes the Overview too.

Where did we leave off?

Gone for a week? Back up to speed in a minute. You and your AI pick up right where you stopped.

Ask “where did we leave off?” in your terminal. You get the last session, the handoff note and everything still open: tasks, concerns, errors, security issues, and whether the Overview is out of date.

Terminal · /faundr:resume

Last session

  • Requests: “pick up free shipping”; “test it on mobile”
  • Completed: Show shipping in the cart

Still to do

  • Free shipping · Shipping tests (in progress)
  • Free shipping · Test on mobile

Open items

  • P-2 Shipping to Alaska calculates as $0
  • Project overview is out of date. Run /faundr:overview to refresh it.
Always up to date

The Overview keeps itself current. And it won’t burn tokens doing it.

Writing the Overview costs tokens, so Faundr only asks for an update when something actually changed.

  • Written from the code

The AI reads your project and its code map. Every item links to the file that backs it up.

  • Updated when it matters

After a new feature, decision, rule or concern, or when the code grows. At most once a day.

  • You’re in control

Don’t want automatic updates? Turn them off in Workflows → From Faundr and run /faundr:overview whenever you want.

AI builds fast. The Overview helps you keep up.

On its own, your AI starts every session from scratch, and you find out what exists by opening files. With Faundr, your project has a living summary and every feature has an agreed finish line.

FAQ

Who writes the Overview?

Your AI coding agent does, with /faundr:overview, by reading your project. You don’t write a thing. On a brand-new project, /faundr:planning writes it from your conversation.

What if the Overview is wrong?

Every item links to the file that backs it up, so you can verify it. Ask your AI to fix it and the Overview updates.

Does it use a lot of tokens?

Writing the Overview does, so Faundr only asks for an update when something important changes, and never more than once a day. You can also turn automatic updates off.

Does my team see the same Overview?

Yes. It lives in your project dashboard, so everyone with access sees the same version.

Does it work on an existing project?

Yes. Run /faundr:overview, and optionally /faundr:inventory to log what the app already does as completed features.

Never get lost in your app again. Open the Overview in your project dashboard.
