What Loops is for
Loops is email built for SaaS: the welcome sequence, the nudge when someone signed up but never created a project, the product update to everyone, and the transactional emails (login codes, receipts) all live in one place. Your app tells Loops what users did, and the emails go out on their own. You pay by subscribed contacts, not by email sent.
How it plugs into your product
- 1Create a free account and set up a sending domain you own (a subdomain like mail.yourapp.com), adding its DNS records.
- 2Wait for the records to verify: often a few hours, up to 72.
- 3Send contacts and events from your app (signed up, upgraded) through the API or an integration, with the key on the server.
- 4Build the onboarding flows and newsletters in the editor; transactional emails are called from your code by ID.
Does it fit your idea?
It fits if
- A SaaS that wants onboarding emails triggered by what users do, without stitching together two email tools.
- A product with up to 5,000 engaged users that emails them often: sends are unlimited on paid plans.
- A small team that doesn't want to pay per seat to let everyone edit emails.
Look elsewhere if
- Your list is tens of thousands of free leads who rarely buy: the price grows with every subscribed contact.
- Your app still lives on a free hosting address like yourapp.vercel.app with no domain of your own.
- You need receipts going out at high volume before you have any marketing list: a pure transactional API like Resend is simpler.
What people only find out after building
Read this before you build on it. Each item links to the official page that says so.
The free plan allows 4,000 sends per 30 days, with transactional and marketing counted together, and only to your first 1,000 contacts. Login codes eat into the same limit.

Official source: loops.soYou can't send from a free hosting subdomain like vercel.app or netlify.app; you need a domain where you control DNS.
Official source: loops.soPaid plans are priced by subscribed contacts: Growth at $49/month covers up to 5,000, and each step past that costs more even if you email them rarely. Unsubscribed contacts don't count.

What it costs in practice
A SaaS with 3,000 subscribed users getting onboarding, a monthly update and receipts: Growth at $49/month with unlimited sends. Under 1,000 contacts and 4,000 sends a month, it's $0. Rough estimate.
